- How many cycles per day do you run, on average? Under five, in a clinical setting? You're likely Scenario A. Five or more, with mostly lab consumables? Scenario B. A handful of wound care loads in a facility with shared staff? Scenario C.
- What's the worst-case outcome if the autoclave fails? A delayed appointment (A), a ruined experiment batch (B), or a patient safety event (C). The further down this list you land, the stricter your protocol needs to be.
- Who touches the autoclave? Two trained staff members is manageable. A rotating cast arrives with C.

The Tuttnauer 2340M service manual isn't thrilling reading. But I can trace half of the maintenance mistakes I've seen in the field to people not reading it thoroughly.
